Ø  banyak dipakai dalam kondisi hasil tempering sehingga struktur mikronya martensit
Ø  lebih kuat dari baja karbon rendah
Ø  aplikasi :poros, roda gigi, crankshaft
·         BAJA KARBON TINGGI
Ø  kandungan karbonnya: 0,6 < % C ≤ 1,7
Ø  dapat dinaikkan sifat mekaniknya melalui perlakuan panas austenitizing, quenching, dan tempering
Ø  banyak dipakai dalam kondisi hasil tempering sehingga struktur mikronya martensit
Ø  paling keras, paling kuat, paling getas di antara baja karbon lainnya
Ø  tahan aus
Ø  aplikasi :pegas, pisau cukur, kawat kekuatan tinggi, rel kereta api,perkakas potong, dies
